Intro to West Coast Swing Workshop (Local PDX)

West Coast Swing is the partner dance of today's generation. Taking its roots from the traditional swing styles, West Coast Swing has adapted itself to all of the current music trends of today (Top 40, R&B, Hip Hop, Blues, Funk, Soul, and more). It uses a smooth, rubberband-like connection and flexible structures to allow for ultimate versatility and expression through dance! Check out some examples below!

Intro to West Coast Swing is crafted to give both brand new dancers, and even returning veterans of West Coast Swing their best chance at success. No partners or experience required! This is perfect for first-timers!

This workshop typically occurs mid-month. Students who take this workshop will be granted permission to join week 3+ of the Monday 6:30pm beginner series. (Think of this as a mid-month catch-up if you missed the beginning of the series, or as a standalone bootcamp :) )

In an abundance of caution and to keep this as safe as possible, we will continue to require vaccines for this month's event.

Here’s what that means if you’d like to join us:

Vaccine Only Classes: Students will need to provide 1-time verification of fully vaccinated status. After we’ve verified you once, we won't need to do it again.

Masks Optional: In accordance with local mandates for masking in indoor spaces, masks are now optional.

Singles Welcome: No partners required! everyone will be rotating partnerships throughout the class. If you and a partner would prefer not to rotate with the rest of class, that is also very welcome!

Preregistration is required for all classes (please use registration links; **RSVP to meetup is not considered preregistration**). In-studio capacity will be limited for safety purposes, we are unable to accommodate walk-ins at this time.
